New Samba file share - not possible to create share on file system path

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: juruen@…
Milestone: Component: samba
Severity: blocker Keywords:

Description (last modified by ejhernandez@…) (diff)

I want to create a new samba file share. I go to File Sharing > Shares > Add. I choose "Share path" : "File system path".

Since I cannot specify the share path in a separate text box, I always get the error message "Missing argument: Share path".

Can you please tell me what firefox version and OS you are using? I can't reproduce the issue with my firefox.

The ebox OS is ubuntu 8.10 x86

the ebox repository is: deb  http://ppa.launchpad.net/ebox/ubuntu intrepid main deb-src  http://ppa.launchpad.net/ebox/ubuntu intrepid main

The client software is Vista x86 with Firefox 3. But it also doesn't work in a ubuntu 8.10 64bit os. So I think it isn't a browser thing.

apt-cache policy ebox-samba

ebox-samba:

Installed: 0.12.6.100-0ubuntu1~ppa2~intrepid1 Candidate: 0.12.6.100-0ubuntu1~ppa2~intrepid1 Version table:

No. I installed ubuntu hardy and then update Ebox to 12.6.100 -> no problems at all with the samba shares :S
