Add fetchmail to mail/user/usercorner modules to retrieve external pop3/imap messages

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: juruen@…

Severity: normal Keywords: getmail pop3 mail

Description

Now i use getmail scripts to manually retrieve the emails from external pop3 accounts. Would be nice to have in the mail/user modules gui where you can define external mail accounts and the frequency of retrieving.
Better wuold be an option to enable it in the usercorner page.
Microsoft in Windows Small Business Server named this POP3 Connector. As Ebox is the ideal replacement for SBS, i think that this is an essential piece because not all small company have or want a domain in the server. Thank you.

Usually i define in ebox an existent domain in the mail module of ebox, for example "mycompanydomain.com", so when i use programs like roundcube or egroupware the users have the real email and domain in the account when they login in the programs. With getmail i can retrieve the messages and put directly in the Maildir directory of the local account without passing through the local postfix smtp.
Can i retrieve from an external pop server with fetchmail in this particular setup? Or i must setup the domain in ebox for example "mycompanydomain.local" to differentiate it from the external domain and make fetchmail works?
