Description
Dear friends. I have had to change the system account name to be able to use the old name in Users module in Ebox, because Ebox have said me that user exists.
So I have completly changed the system account to another name (kill processes, rename user, add to another group, delete old group, edit password and shadow files to delete old user, change home dir) and restart whole Ubuntu Linux. But Ebox still says that user already exists.
I could not find the string "olduser" anywhere on the system. Could you help me please?
Thanks Martin

Hi Martin,
Did you managed to solve your problem? If not, could you please post it in the eBox forum?
Anyway, there was an issue related to this, you cannot use "ebox" as account name in a server where you are going to install ebox, did you used this name?
Regards.

Hi.
Unfortunately not.
I think it isn´t in relation with that issue as you described. I have another username used as standard unix account, for example "blabla". And I cannot choose this "blabla" user in File Sharing module of Ebox in Access control, because it is not in list. And I cannot create it, because I get an errormessage: "user name blabla already exists." I have just upgraded to 1.5.3 and problem still exist.
OK, I will post it tomorow to the forum.
Thanks Martin

Hi Martin,
I understand your problem now, but eBox is not thought to handle user accounts created by hand or by other services. Anyway I have tried to reproduce your problem, but I couldn't. This is what I tried:
- I created an user with 'adduser'
- I tried to create a user with eBox using the same user name (it failed, the user exists)
- I deleted the user with 'deluser'
- I created a user with eBox without any problem
I'm going to mark this ticket as 'worksforme', please reopen it if you find that it's really a bug.
Thanks.
Sorry, I forgot to say the version, it is 1.5.1 in Ubuntu server 10.04 LTS. Martin
