Description
Problem: Cannot access network share (mapped network drive) through VPN after last Zentyal update. Update was done with apt-get tool. On Samba restart I got "Wide character in print at /usr/share/perl5/Redis.pm line 103, <GEN1> line 167." error.
Solution: After some "googling" I found solution, that works: http://lists.roaringpenguin.com/pipermail/mimedefang/2003-February/013290.html After
/etc/init.d/ebox samba restart
I found my network share working again.
Anyway, it's the second time when similar issues with Samba are coming after ordinary update process.
Next time I'll pay better atention to this process, to investigate exact source (reason) of the problem.
System:
Ubuntu Desktop 10.04 LTS, i686
Zentyal Core 2.0.2
Samba version 3.4.9
Perl version 5.10.1
Basically, all system (including Zentyal) is up-to-date (02-10-2010).

Also DNS module cannot start again after this upgrade, so I simply removed it as it badly managed some of network connections and stayed with plain BIND.
