Description
Hi =) Im still fresh to Zentyal, and I am sadly mostly a windows user, I am slowly attempting to convert our school to open source for everything.
Anytime while running, either if idle, or working on the web mangement console, the gui will crash. Restarting slim via a virtual console, is not possible as it does not work. The screen seems to go to sleep mode and then flicker back on every two or three seconds, with a black screen and a blinking cursor.
Im only able to quicly hop to a virtual console when i see that screen, and I have to quickly type in any commands that i can before the screen resets itself after about 3 seconds.
/etc/init.d/slim restart does not work. Neither does the killall command.
IN my Dry lab, the clients running off the zentyal server still have access to the network and there seems to be no problems....it just seems to be the gui on the zentyal server. Im running the latest copy since Jan 3rd, 2001 fully updated with all community updates. This server is not subscribed sadly.
The problem persisted even after reinstalling multiple times, with or with out community updates, and with or without any modules.
Current modules installed are the following: Network Firewall DHCP DNS Backup Events IDS Logs Monitor NTP VPN Traffic Shaping Users and Groups Web Server FTP RADIUS File Sharing HTTP Proxy
Im using a supermicro 1U server. with 2 gig ram, that runs ubuntu 10.04 server or 10.10 perfectly fine...just not zentyal it seems.
Thank you for your assistance. It is important that I get this up soon, as one of our branch sites is in need of a new router badly, and Zentyal seems best at the moment.
Thank you so much for your help
