Description
No Japanese character support in Zarafa at all. こんにちは turns into ?????
This happens in email, in the contacts page (for Japanese names), as well as in the calendar (for Japanese place names).
This is true when using any of the standard and frequently used character encodings including UTF-8, Shift_JS, EUC-JP, and ISO-2022-JP.
I have confirmed that the same is true of Korean and I assume this is also the case with (some) other non-English character encodings. This makes the groupware module unusable for those of us not in English speaking countries.
Zentyal's stand-alone email server does not have this problem.

- Milestone changed from 2.0.X to 2.2
Currently Zarafa doesn't support Unicode and that's the problem you are experiencing. Next Zarafa version (7) will include support for this and hopefully Zentyal 2.2 will include Zarafa 7.

Thank you for the update. I am still following this bug, and I am willing to do any testing.

Unicode support is included in Zarafa-7 which is to be released mid-2011. see the website doc.zarafa.com/7.0/Release_Notes/en-US/html-single/#_unicode_support
At this moment the available RC1 can be used to demonstrate the proper support When released as final, the ubuntu repositories will be updates which zentyal uses.
