It could be great to implement Rosetta ( https://launchpad.net/rosetta/) in your website to translate *.po files direct from web.

I don't think we should relay on non-free tools if there are free ones available. I'd vote for pootle, and I think someone is taking steps in that direction

We already set the infrastructure for translators at  http://pootle.warp.es/projects/ebox.

Every translator can register to start translating to his own language, if it is unavailable, you can ask for it at ebox-user mailing list.
