Description
There is seems to be no method to allow PPPoE sessions to lookup connection details in /etc/ppp/chap-secrets
It looks like [Changeset 22262] broke PPPoE connections for us.
Aug 27 13:10:11 gateway pppd[3542]: RP-PPPoE plugin version 3.8p compiled against pppd 2.4.5 Aug 27 13:10:11 gateway pppd[3544]: pppd 2.4.5 started by root, uid 0 Aug 27 13:10:11 gateway pppd[3544]: PPP session is 6 Aug 27 13:10:11 gateway pppd[3544]: Connected to <mac address> via interface eth1 Aug 27 13:10:11 gateway pppd[3544]: Using interface ppp0 Aug 27 13:10:11 gateway pppd[3544]: Connect: ppp0 <--> eth1 Aug 27 13:10:17 gateway pppd[3544]: No CHAP secret found for authenticating us to ESR9.Reading5 Aug 27 13:10:17 gateway pppd[3544]: CHAP authentication failed: Invalid Password. Aug 27 13:10:17 gateway pppd[3544]: CHAP authentication failed Aug 27 13:10:17 gateway pppd[3544]: Connection terminated.
Reverting chap-secrets from using pppoe to * fixes the problem.
