In the fetchmailrc you correctly added the option ""keep"", but enabling only this, fetchmail keep retrieving the same messages over and over if a pop3 server is buggy (i have tested two different providers and both have this problem).
Adding the option ""uidl"" solved the problem for me, and is also recommended in the official man page http://www.fetchmail.info/fetchmail-man.html :
