Description
Hello, tried to install Zentyal 2.2 and 2.2-1 AMD64 on an Intel-Server with different usbsticks 2GB and it always stopping at 84% with package zentyal-core. No problems with other packages before. Made the stick with ubuntu 11.10 and 10.04 "create start medium", because the server has no DVD-Drive.
So, there must be a problem with zentyal-core !

when it hangs, could you please press F4 to see if there is any relevant error in the screen?
Are you installing with or without internet connection? Have you tried the same ISO on a Virtual Machine too see if the problem is in the stick?
Iam installing with internet connection. No, havent tried it with a virtual Machine, but installed a Kubuntu 11.10 AMD64 desktop and it worked flawless. Same usbstick, same Hardware.

- Summary changed from Zentyal 2.2-1 AMD64 stopped Installation at 84 % - Package zentyal-core to Installation from usb stick fails sometimes
- Milestone changed from 2.2.X to nice to have someday
It seems there are errors with some installations from USB sometimes (probably depending on the tool used to create it), but sometimes they work. We don't know what can we do to fix that, it's more an Ubuntu installer issue than a Zentyal one. Anway, if USB is your only possible media to make the installation, maybe you can try to install a regular Ubuntu server 10.04 and then install the zentyal packages on top of it.

- Milestone changed from nice to have someday to 2.2.X
Tried the Installation with DVD and USBstick creation from Windows. Same results. Stopped at 84%. So it has NOTHING to do with the medium.
I think that it depends on my Hardwareplatform Intel Sandy Bridge, because first there is a message "no network devices found".
So, how are your experiences with Intel Sandy Bridge and Zentyal InstallationCDs ? Should it work or not ?

- Status changed from new to closed
- Resolution set to wontfix
Ok, now I see this is not a problem with the medium but a lack of hardware support by Ubuntu. As said in this thread ( http://forum.zentyal.org/index.php/topic,8746), if Zentyal 2.2 is based in Ubuntu 10.04 and Ubuntu 10.04 does not support your hardware, we can't do anything...
The only option I see now is to manually upgrade the kernel version as indicated in the forum thread. Of course this should be no longer a problem with the first release of Zentyal 2.3 based on Ubuntu 12.04, but in the meanwhile we will have to live with that. Sorry for the inconvenience.
