SAMBA NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED

Hello there! I find the Windows XP client by the server to run DOS-based programs while using the program "freezes". The program must be closed and restarted. The samba userlog contained the following: : "smbd/service.c:676(make_connection_snum)

create_connection_server_info failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED"

Hello Papp Gyula,

could you access to this share in the normal way?. If not, are you sure that the permissions are right set?.

If you have checked this two things, what is the program which gives the error?. Maybe this is some incapability.

I checked all my Zentyal installation which I did not tamper with the only web Zentyal settings I use. The error message can be found in all of them together with the following:

getpeername failed. Error was Transport endpoint is not connected read_fd_with_timeout: client 0.0.0.0 read error = Connection reset by peer.

forgive me but I don't have clear a couple of things:

• the problem is when you are running programs that are inside the share or when you are running them in the client and use them to access the share?
• can you tell me what are those programs?.

Dear Javier! I checked all my Zentyal installation. Without exception, each samba logban I find this error, no matter what program to use the Windows XP clients. Inadvertently misled by sites that have been associated with the error in the DOS-based programs. So the error message can be found on my installation without any Zentyal of whether or not used DOS-based programs. The many results google gives this error message. I fear that it Ubuntu specific problem. Gyula

first, sorry for this late reply.

I think this is probably a configuration issue. 'SAMBA NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED' means that the connection was established and authorized but the requested operation was not allowed for the connection's user.

Anyway I am closing this because is a configuration/operations issue and the ticket are only for error reporting and fixing. If I am wrong and you found something that reveals this issue as a Zentyal error, please reopen and share it.
