Description
With a clean 2.3-1 install, whenever I halt or reboot, the system freezes / hangs at the point where it is shutting down the zentyal firewall. This completely prevents a reboot or an actual shutdown.
I can ctrl-alt-del after a short time and get a message about the system trying to write to the hardware clock. If this message comes up, the system hangs there and subsequent ctrl-alt-del will bring up messages about starting and stopping handling of emergency keypresses. If I wait long enough (several minutes), I can ctrl-alt-del and whatever process seems stuck will abort, and the system will shut down normally.
I have let the shutdown process run for several minutes without a ctrl-alt-del to see if it will resolve on its own, but it doesn't. I have not waited 15+ minutes and would be surprised if this is required :)
I am happy to post a log file if you can let me know what would make sense to post.
Hello Sean Walter,
this is the same issue than #4603 . Could you try the fix given in https://trac.zentyal.org/ticket/4603#comment:10 and see if it works on your system?.
Also keep in mind that probably is the network module the culprit, since its message is the next to be printed after the firewall one,
Regards,
Javier
