MINUTES - Zentyal Community Council Meeting 11-04-2012

0. The minutes of previous ZCC meeting were approved

1. Action points from the previous meeting

a) Changes were added to the CoC. We found two action points regarding the agreement people accept when registering to the forum. Action: heidita1 will prepare a welcome message that will be sent to all new registers with explanation and link of the CoC. Action: board moderators, if they like, will prepare a localized translation of the agreement to be posted as sticky b) ichat and nachico pinged a few forum members about the possibility of becoming bug hunters and half_life already joined in. He is already hunting bugs and we already closed the first one reported by him. Action: nachico will ping Oliver and xiku, as well as look for other candidates c) ZCC info was documented on .org site. It was agreed that councils should be open to anyone interested but only cc members should have a vote. ZCC members can make use of the private board in the forum if they need privacy in their communication. Action: heidita will complete the ZCC info, publish our minutes and announce it d) Sources of community funding. heidita presented a series of options for community funding, as well as examples. Action: ichat will start a topic in ZCC board to discuss the goals and required budget for the community. Update: topic started

2. Candidates for German and Russian board moderators

majestyx and atikhonov were officially approved as German and Russian board moderators respectively. Actions: nachico will make them both board moderators and chris4916 will mentor them during 1-2 weeks, giving them tips and support, making them feel at ease at the FM boards, etc

4. Zentyal LoCo? teams.

Zentyal Dutch team is near readiness of building the content structure. Keeping in touch with ubuntu-nl and planning to collaborate with them after announcement. We can continue discussion about the Dutch team later on, once it has been announced.

5. Zentyal documentation.

Launching a community doc team sounds like an interesting idea. Before taking that step we will start by opening a topic in the forum asking for ideas and suggestions on what kind of doc is required. chris4916 and ian suggested to start with some more technical documentation ( scripts, structure of the software, components organization and interaction ). "Structure how the maps with the software are organised, also the specific command for Zentyal reconfigure commands in case something went wrong by installation." Action: mateo will start the topic and will lead the flow of ideas to get to a list of the 10 most demanded howtos/articles. It will be discussed during next ZCC

6. Proposals / guidelines for devteam.

There is a gap between current doc (end-user oriented) and module development tutorial, so we should first focus in filling that gap, with the doc suggested in 5, so that we can mature our community and expect to get more code contributions. Red books of IBM were shown as an example. No action points were planned, as any progress here is blocked by 5.

Next ZCC meeting will be held on Wednesday 9th May (second Wednesday of the month).
